Ed’s Lobster Bar

Since it was a pretty chilly and rainy day, I was really in the mood for some hot soup – creamy, thick soup. We strolled around the Soho area for a bit before deciding on Ed’s Lobster Bar because nothing beats a good Clam Chowder. We arrived at around 12:30pm and was seated right away in the back. Our waitress told us that the menu was written on a chalkboard on the wall, which was a bit inconvenient from our particular table but we managed to order just fine.

We opted to get two soups and split them. I had the New England Clam Chowder ($7.00) first and it really hit the spot. It was filled with so many clams and potatoes! It was super creamy and warmed me right up. They cook their Clam Chowder with bacon, which gave it an added flavor.

We also had the Lobster Bisque ($9.00), which had lobster tortellinis in it. The soup was thick and creamy and very flavorful. I could really taste the lobster in it. I still prefer Fish’s lobster bisque but this one really came close.

We then split an order of Fish & Chips ($18.00) because we knew we’d be pretty full from the soups. The fried fish was very juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside. The fries were also perfectly crunchy and thick cut.

After all our savory dishes were cleared away, we decided to split the Blueberry Creme Brulée ($7.00), which featured fresh blueberries in the custard. I’m always a fan of creme brulée so this one was even better since it had one of my favorite fruits. If you’re a blueberry fan, this dessert is definitely for you!

Service was prompt and attentive. Our food came in a very timely manner and we never had to wait long. I can’t speak for it’s busier dinner hours but lunch service was very good. I can’t wait to be back to try out some more of their other seafood dishes!
