Located in the heart of the Cyclades islands, Paros is one of the most popular Greek islands for visitors. Known for its gorgeous Cycladic architecture and enchanting sandy beaches with crystal clear waters, it is definitely worth a visit. The capital city of Parikia, which is also where the island’s main ferry port is located, is the busiest part of the island. On the north side of the island is the fishing village of Naoussa, another main hub of activity.

In comparison to Crete, Paros felt like a postcard of Greece. The white buildings with blue roofs, bougainvillea lined alleys, and white cobbled streets were so picturesque. If the nightlife of Mykonos and the hustle and bustle of Santorini aren’t your jam, but you still want to experience a picture-perfect Greek island, Paros is a solid alternative. We spent 3 days in Paros and it was the perfect end to our 2 weeks in Greece.

Day 1: Explore Naoussa Town
Naoussa, or sometimes spelled Naousa, is a fishing village in Paros. Its streets are filled with gorgeous white-washed houses and cobblestone alleyways. You can get lost in the side streets and winding alleys. But there are so many beautiful boutiques along the way, as well as tons of cute little cats, so you won’t even mind being lost.

Day 2: Boat Tour with Michael Zeppos
On our second day, we did a full day boat trip with Michael Zeppos. This was so much fun. The boat was so comfortable and we felt so taken care of the entire day. You are treated to true Greek hospitality aboard. They even cook you a full hot meal with appetizers and entree as well as dessert. We stopped at several spots to swim and snorkel, including the gorgeous Blue Lagoon. The water was so clear and beautiful. If you’re lucky, you may even visit some ancient ruins!

Day 3: Beach Day + Winery Tour
On the morning of our last day, we walked into town and took a quick ferry over to Kolympethres Beach. The ferries are 10€ per person and include the return trip. They do leave pretty much on the minute listed at the dock, so make sure you’re back before the last one! Kolympethres is one of the most famous beaches on the island. Located in the bay of Naoussa, it is known for its clear blue water and stunning rock formations. It was the perfect spot to relax and spend the day enjoying the sun.

After spending the morning at the beach, we took the ferry back into town and headed over to Moraitis Winery. Founded in 1910 by Manolis Moraitis and now in its 4th generation, they offer daily tours of their vineyards, along with wine and cheese tastings. You can also have lunch at the vineyard. We opted for the Cheese & Wine Tour Experience, which runs for 90 minutes, and cost €42 per person. The tour features a guided tour around the century-old winery with its underground cellars and one of their organic vineyards. The tour is followed by a tasting of 5 wines paired with 5 artisanal kinds of cheese from all over the Cycladic islands. We had a blast and even picked up a few bottles to bring home.
