Compared to Crete, Paros cuisine is more similar to what most think Greek cuisine is. While Crete’s cuisine is more meat heavy, Paros was all about fresh catches from the sea. We dined on the most amazing seafood on Paros, along with local cheeses and fish roe dip. If you’re visiting during high season, or even shoulder season like us, I highly recommend reservations. The most popular restaurants had “reserved” signs on almost all of their tables. Dinner on Paros, like everywhere else in Greece, starts on the later side, so if you can get to restaurants early, you’ll still manage to snag a table.

One of our favorite meals on Paros was at Sigi Ikthios. This was a recommendation from a friend and it was a fantastic first meal on the island. If you go early, you’ll get your pick of tables and can get an amazing view of the harbor. They have a fantastic cocktail menu named after local cats. We had an amazing Greek Salad with local soft cheese. If you see anywhere serving the local soft cheese, I highly recommend it over feta. We also had the Octopus with honey and red wine, served with purée fava beans as well as the Grilled calamari. The Grilled Calamari ended up being one of the best dishes we had during our entire trip!

For a quick and satisfying meal, check out Souvlaki Kargas. It’s a simple, no frills souvlaki spot that’s cheap and tasty. We actually ended up having an early dinner here after a long boat trip as well as lunch on our last day. Both times, we had the Pork Gyro in Pita, which is packed with ingredients and so flavorful. If you’re feeling extra hungry, try the Dakos Salad, with rusk, crushed tomatoes, local soft cheese, and capers.

A must-visit spot in Paros is Kafeneion i Palia Agora, which was both recommended by the internet as well as our driver (Shout out to Vagelis at Paros Super Trips!). You have to be here before 7pm in order to get a table. Otherwise you’re looking at about an hour wait. The food at Kafeneion i Palia Agora is simple, local, and comforting. The Vine Leaves stuffed with rice were fantastic and the Stuffed Zucchini with shrimps was a favorite of ours.

And lastly, if you want that Gram video or picture, grab an early lunch or dinner at Fotis All Day Bar or Taverna Glafkos. The views are spectacular and both are just a beautiful spot to enjoy a meal.
