On our second full day on Oahu, we had another hike planned. But first, breakfast!
We had an early breakfast at Koko Head Café, located in Kaimuki. I won’t bore you with the details, so let’s just move onto what you’re all here for – the food! I ordered the Steak and Eggs, which comes with a side salad and some smashed potatoes. I opted for my eggs soft scrambled, which was phenomenal.
My mom had the Ohayou Eggs, which I was eying and perhaps convinced her to order. It features baked eggs, heritage ham, local mushrooms, parmesan dashi cream, and bonito. This dish was so decadent and creamy. I ended up finishing her leftovers because it was so good!
After filling our tummies, we drove over to the Makapu‘u Point Lighthouse Trail. The trail itself was lot easier than Diamond Head because it was completely paved and had very logical stopping points for hikers to rest. The entire hike takes about 30 minutes to reach the top. However, it took us much longer since we kept stopping to take in the great viewing spots!
The view at the top is absolutely breathtaking! Once you reach the top, you’re treated to a view of the shoreline of Makapu’u beach stretching towards the North Shore.
The sea just looks like it stretches out forever.
And of course, the Lighthouse!
